AZ Mirror's Shondiin Silversmith interviewed Erin Parker, the Executive Director of the Indigenous Food and Agriculture Initiative, about traditional foods and the important role access to these foods play for Native Americans and Native communities.
“The long-term impacts on Indigenous health that comes from better connections to those foods can’t be understated. ... “It’s called traditional food because it’s part of a tradition," Parker said.
